Ammonia (R717) Systems
Ammonia is a natural refrigerant and is one of the most environmentally friendly options with zero GWP (Global Warming Potential). It offers 20-30% higher energy efficiency compared to freon systems.
Freon Systems
Freon systems use HFC group refrigerants. They are easier to install, simpler to maintain and ideal for small to medium-scale applications.
Which System to Choose?
As a general rule: freon for capacities below 500 kW, ammonia systems for capacities above 500 kW. However, this decision should be made considering energy costs, safety requirements and long-term planning.
